On July 5th I embarked on a vegetarian journey. As that journey comes to a close, I’ve learned a lot about my body, my unhealthy diet, and my authentic self.
My tastebuds loved meat but my body didn’t. My body was tired of being sluggish. My body was tired of being sick. My body was tired of being tired.
My diet was trash. There is no better way to say it. It. Was. Garbage.
My authentic self was released from a prison I didn’t even know I was in. After a month with no meat, I’m realizing that I DO have the stamina and the perseverance to start a task and see it through to completion. It’s a good feeling. It’s a feeling I’ve been lacking for a very long time.
Oh yeah...and I’ve lost 9 pounds! YAY ME!
As my meatless journey comes to a close...I’ve made a decision to continue with this lifestyle change. I’ll soon start reintroducing seafood to my diet...but only 1-2 times per week. Those other meats? Well...they can kick rocks.
Maybe I’ll start a NO CHEESE challenge next.
Nah. Maybe not!
Now it’s time to get off my butt and start working out again. It’s no longer satisfying for me to keep exercising sporadically and expecting consistent results.
It’s time to truly commit to being a better me.
Being healthy will never go out of style.
